February 12th & 13th 2014 saw Vital Sines exhibit at the huge Southern Electronics and Manufacturing Show. What a great couple of days, catching up with old colleagues, current and future business partners and of course lots of new potential customers!
The turnout was great despite the appalling weather, which indeed caused the show to close early the first day, the roof was moving around just a bit too much!
We had a joint stand with our partners at Assist Design who are experts in all things mechanical and 3D modelling, they are 'Assisting' us with enclosure design for a couple of big projects.
My latest marketing tools were Vital Sines Stress Brains which proved a big hit, so much so that I had to ration them towards the end of the day! The notion that handfulls would be taken for 'the grandkids' wasn't quite the idea, but who knows, they could grow up to be engineers!
I only noticed a couple of companies offering a PCB design service this year at the show which was surprising, good for us, but maybe this is symptomatic of the perceived engineering skills shortage?
Away from 'business' the highlight had to be playing a leg of 301 darts against Martin 'Wolfie' Adams! He was at his main sponsor Finder's stand, and I am proud to say that I got down to a finish (167!) thanks to a treble 19, before he crushed me.
We'll definitely be exhibiting at the show again, hopefully in 2016.
